Oxwich bay, Beach & Nature Reserve

After a night of torrential rain, the Gowerton site resembled a lake, and we were vindicated in choosing an all-weather pitch. As the water slowly disappeared the birds had a field day.  Almost everywhere you looked there were birds scouring the grass and flying back to their nests with mouthfuls of worms and grubs. Swansea Bay, The Mumbles, Gower

The forecast for the rest of the country was abysmal, however the local forecast for Swansea looked promising so we were off to the mumbles for the day. The Mumbles lighthouse was built in 1794 and marks the begging of the Gower peninsula from the west.
