It was a big decision to purchase a New caravan, not just because we had never owned a Caravan before but considering the cost it was a considerable amount to fork out. We had hired a van the previous year and had visited the NEC Caravan Show in October, this was not our first visit to the show and had looked at dozens of layouts, makes and prices. So having a shortlist we had a final look round and after careful consideration it had come down to 2 choices, a Swift Challenger 565 or a Bailey Unicorn Cadiz.

Both my wife and myself favoured the Bailey with it great finish, stylish looks, combined with safety and security features such as Al-Ko stability control, and Al-Ko wheels locks and tracker,  After some haggling with the salesman we came away with a great deal including motor mover and starter pack with delivery promised for April 2017.

As the day finally arrived we prepared to pick up the van from Cotswold Edge Leisure Vehicles just our side of Stratford-on-Avon. On arrival we were met by a friendly welcome and a thorough briefing going through electrics, water, waste, and the heating controls. The Unicorn comes with Alde Central Heating as standard, one of the reasons we choose the Bailey.

We had arranged to pay for the van by Bacs, however transferring a large amount of money via the banking system should always be done with caution one bit of advice is to make a small payment prior to transferring the bulk of the money, this way you can ensure that the payment goes to the correct account.

The Company registered the tracker for us and went through the paperwork, couple of signatures and we were ready to go. A good experience from a quality company who seem to really care about their customers, it is a company that I would highly recommend.

So a quick demonstration of the caravan mover, (a god send if like me you have trouble reversing or need to put the van in a tight pitch) we hooked up, checked the lights, fixed the Millenco towing mirrors and we were off.

A week at Trewethett Farm Caravan and Motor Home club site in Beautiful Cornwall was booked and the start of our touring adventures in our own caravan.

Update – first Service:

Booked our first services in March 2018, carried out by Cotswold Leisure in a friendly and efficient manner. Corrected a few minor issues with trim and  replaced a catch for us as part of the service. All in all a good experience and would definitely recommend Cotswold Edge and its staff.
